When the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) came into force, thousands of EU companies suddenly needed Scope 3 emissions data from their non-EU suppliers. The problem? We saw a gap: the emission factors used by consultants — DEFRA 2025, US EPA, and GHG Protocol — are publicly available. The methodology is standardised. The calculations are deterministic (same inputs always produce the same output). There was no reason this had to cost tens of thousands of dollars.
